An accomplished soloist, chamber musician and composer, he has won many major competition prizes since establishing an international profile at the Leeds International Piano Competition in 1987. As a concerto soloist, Munro has performed with orchestras throughout Europe, Russia, China and the USA, in addition to appearances with every major Australian orchestra. As a chamber musician he has been a member of the Australia Ensemble since 2000. In a journey from 19th century Europe to 21st century Australia, his 2010 Hobart concert for Musica Viva Tasmania features works by early 20th century Australian composer Ernest Hutcheson, as well as a performance of one of his own critically acclaimed works. |
